New Book on Working-Class Comic Book Heroes

Next month, the new book Working-Class Comic Book Heroes: Class Conflict and Populist Politics in Comics will published by the University Press of Mississippi. The book is edited by Marc DiPaolo and includes contributions from Phil Bevin, Blair Davis, Marc DiPaolo, Michele Fazio, James Gifford, Kelly Kanayama, Orion Ussner Kidder, Christina M. Knopf, Kevin Michael Scott, Andrew Alan Smith, and Terrence R. Wandtke.

Informed by working-class studies, the book “examines working-class superheroes and other protagonists who populate heroic narratives in serialized comic books.” Read more about the book and pre-order it from the press here.
